Villa Galini is built at the foot of a hill just outside Heraklion; it is situated at a privileged location on a central road outside Heraklion towards the village of Episkopi.

Many restaurants and markets are near the property and the nearest beach is only 10 minutes driving time. You are close to the major sights of Crete including the palace of Knossos and the city of Heraklion and its famous gypsy market.

Location of the Villa

Almyrida is in the Apokoronas area, at the entrance to Souda Bay, about 2 km after Kalives and 22 km from Chania. Almyrida has two sandy beaches, fully organised with umbrellas, loungers and a lifeguard, while there is also a third beach with pebbles just before the village.

Almyrida is the ideal place in Crete for people who want to enjoy the sea in peace and quiet, far from the noise of the major tourist resorts. If you feel like more excitement, you will find it at Georgioupolis, a few kilometres to the east.

You can use Almyrida as a base to explore the picturesque Apokoronas area on foot or by car, with its tiny hamlets hidden in the hills or nestled on the green mountainsides

Car hire is required to get to Villa Galini, its just 10km from Heraklion airport and car hire is recommended. The villa owners will kindly leave you instructions and give you full directions when you book.

The beach of Episkopi is just 10 minutes drive away and the villa is close to a lovely little resort with a great village atmosphere and local small cafes and Taverna’s.

You can arrange for car hire to be picked up at Heraklion airport and the owner will provide you will directions when you book the villa and for certain dates car hire is included in the price.

Suitable For

The owner of Galini Villas has stated that the property is suitable for children and families and also the elderly and infirm. Pets are allowed but please consult with the owner first. You need to pay 20% of the booking before departure to secure your dates. Check in before 12:00 and check out before 14:00.
