Holidays To Stalis -
Location Of Stalis in Crete
Stalis is on the North east coast of Crete between Malia
and Hersonissos and is a relaxed resort popular with British holidaymaker's, European
holidaymaker's from the Netherlands and Germany and very popular with Irish tourists,
so you will find a wealth of Irish bars in Stalis.
Stalis -
The town of Stalis is situated on the main beach and most hotels, bars and restaurants run parallel to the beach. You will find traditional restaurants, small welcoming bars and pubs as well as the odd small dancing club or two.
Stalis is an excellent base for your holiday to explore Crete being close to the
mountains and beaches as well as just an hour away from Heraklion the capital city
of Crete.
The high season in Stalis runs from May onwards and you will find most bars and restaurants open around this time. As mentioned earlier the Irish influence can be seen in the many bars on beach road. You can find the likes of the Irish House, Slainte Irish Bar and Dwyer's Irish Bar to name a few. Most have live music playing through the week and other themed nights. You have a choice of many other bars including the Britannia Inn, Rose Crown, Rovers Return, Mosquito bar and many more.
A well recommended bar just for its warm welcome has to be Mosquito bar, you will
find the bar staff in here very friendly and welcoming and prices on drinks are great
value.
For those who want to party that little longer there are 2 main clubs/dancing
bars in Stalis, these are Bar Bliss and Seacrets bar on the main beach road. Seacrets
comes highly recommended and the drinks in here are top quality. The music is a
great mix of old classics right up to the present day. You will also find this club
opens during the day and will find a great breakfast and cheap sunbed's here. The
owner George and his nephew both speak English and German as well.
Drinks in Stalis
are a better quality than that of Malia most of the time, with less buy 1 get 2 free
offers but you do get more drink for your money. Below we have placed a few select
photos of Stalis for you to view.
A view from Stalis Beach
Stalis boasts some fine English restaurants and some amazing Greek Tavernas offering a wealth of different food options for every pallet. The best of the English style food restaurants have to be the Rose & Crown, the Britannia Inn and the Red Lion. For Greek restaurants you have to try El Greco on the waterfront and Roma restaurant. Off the beaten track you will find smaller Tavernas but you really have to explore Stalis in the daytime to find the best ones. One of the best Chinese restaurants on the island of Crete has to be in Stalis and is called the Jasmine House, located near Stalis Church this restaurant offers excellent
Service, great food and cheap prices. If you want fast food after a long night out you will find McDonalds in Malia as well as Subway and KFC but also many Gyros Shops dotted all over Stalis and beyond.

but if your wanting something else you can hire a bike from one of the many shops
dotted on the main beach road and ride into the mountains or surrounding resorts,
all offering breathtaking scenery. Fishing is very popular in Stalis and can be
done to the far left of Stalis near the rocks, mullet and bream can easily be caught
on bread with a decent rod. Close to Stalis is the resort of Hersonissos and here
you can visit Star Beach Waterpark and have a great day out. Also you can book horse
riding excursions which will take you either on a beach tour or up into the mountains.
