Sensatori Travel Guide

Sensatori is completely unique within Crete, it is the first man made resort that caters for the holidaymaker's and tourists visiting from all over the world. The Thomson Sensatori brand is in Lyttos Beach in Crete, Guia De Isora in Tenerife and in Cancun in Mexico.

As mentioned above the Sensatori resort has sister resorts but nothing like the Sensatori complex can be found in Crete or Greece. Sensatori Information

This resort and hotel is the exclusive domain of Thomson Holidays which is part of TUI. It has been under construction for some years and was finally finished in May 2008. Its been a popular choice since opening and had had some rave reviews written about it on various holiday review website's including our own review section here.

The resort and hotel comes impeccably styled with some great hotel architects working on this resort to produce a building and scene that is Greek in style with a contemporary twist. You see this as soon as you walk through the grand entrance to the resort, Thomson have really gone to town on the design and detailing and it shows in every part of the resort.

Some of the rooms have their own private rooftop pools, others have pools right up to the balcony and you can literally swim right off your balcony. There are plenty of different pools to choose from and they seem to be everywhere you look in various shapes and sizes.

You wont find yourself twiddling your thumbs if your looking to keep active on holiday and work off the excellent Greek food on offer here. You have the choice of tennis courts, football pitches, volleyball courts, fully equipped gymnasium and your close to the PGA golf course in Hersonissos.

If just relaxing and enjoying the excellent Cretan weather is your idea of the perfect holiday then relax in the many pools on offer or cross over the road to Lyttos beach where you will find comfortable sunbeds and thatched umbrellas with excellent beach service on offer.

When Thomson holidays created this resort must of had a vision to design the perfect spa, and with the spa in Sensatori we think they have made the vision a reality. Just imagine a contemporary canvas of dark wood and cream marble accessorised with chunky candles and water features.

The resort is so popular with families and couples, and also of course honeymooners as you can select from some exquisite suites with private pools. Another reason is the entertainment that is on offer daily in the holiday resort. You have live bands and shows on a nightly basis, some have been captured by guests and placed on YouTube already and we have shown them here for your viewing pleasure.

As well as the compulsory Greek music you have local drama groups and comedy shows on offer and these are a must see!

If its excellent cuisine your looking for then this resort also doesn't disappoint, there are 6 restaurants of which 4 are free, with the main restaurant serving up the majority of daily meals. There's the compulsory Greek restaurant, a Thai style restaurant, a Mexican poolside cafe serving up nachos, chicken wings and more.

If you want to pay a little more you have the Aroma Grill serving up meals on sizzling stone slabs on the beachfront and another fine restaurant offering 5 star cuisine. You cant beat the food here with world class chefs.

Flight time to Crete from the UK is around 4 hours and transfers to Sensatori via coach can take up to 1 hour with taxi transfers taking around 30-40 minutes
