Olive Apartments - Malia

These modern apartments are situated on the outskirts of Malia on a back road, although easy to get to they seem a little far from the madding crowd, it takes about 20 minutes on foot to walk from the centre of Malia to these apartments.  The apartments themselves are clean and inviting with basic amenities like fridge, cooker etc.

Its family run and the onsite pool is very welcoming with the bar serving up all manner of great drinks and snacks.  You will become very friendly with both the owners and other guests as most people don’t bother trying to get to the beach (a 40 minutes walk)

We're just back from a 1 week break in Malia.  We're not exactly in the first flush of youth so these apartments suited us fine.   Set just off the main (very busy) road they are a 10 minutes walk from the madness of Malia and a similar walk from the old town of Malia with some excellent restaurants.   

The main beach is about a 15-20 minute walk. The archeological site of Malia Palace is a good 30 minute walk and leads you to another wonderful beach which was almost empty.  Good taverna nearby - all very unspoilt.   Apartments are clean, spacious and airy.  We found our fellow tourists at the Olive Apartments quiet and considerate in the evening although I can't vouch for that in the midst of the season.   Pool at the Olive Apartments is simply lovely.   

We booked last minute and were expecting the worst as we released after booking that this was a very busy resort where approx 80% of the tourists are aged 18-23, however this was a very pleasant and relaxing holiday considering how busy and manic a resort it is.
