Hersonissos Palace Hotel -
The Hersonissos Palace Hotel is located 25 km east of Heraklion (the capital of Crete), in the most attractive tourist resort of the island, the city of Hersonissos. It is a sea front hotel by the main beach of Hersonissos. The Hersonissos Palace Hotel consists of a main building designed and built in a post modern style with elements of the Greek neoclassic buildings.
All meals are buffet-
After booking this hotel I read some of the reviews and was upset by their terrible comments i.e., the holiday from hell, disgusting food, dirty rundown. As you can imagine we were not looking forward to this holiday as much as we should have been. But I need not have worried the hotel was lovely.
Please don't be put off this hotel by the previous comments -
Had to drink out of plastic cups at the bars.Even at the indoor bar in the evening. Barman was like a little hitler. One evening went to queue for a drink at 1150hrs[bar closed at2400hrs]Had to stand at a certain position[according to the barman] he said we were in the wrong place. He had been serving all evening in any place at the bar. Served one person 24 drinks .He then refused to serve us. After lots of people getting irate he relented. The walls in our room were peeling their paper.Tghe hotel was very clean. The restaurant staff and the barman in the pool were very good. Certainly not a four star hotel

On a Plus this Hotel was very clean. Staff were friendly. we had an 18 month old baby with us, although we booked a cot we had to arange to get one in the room. The balcony railings were wide enough for him to get through, so we had to keep it shut off. It was a major operation to get a baby chair at the table for meals as the staff didnt want to move existing chairs or help in anyway. When he was asleep the pushchair was not aloud in the dinning room. The food was quite limited in choice....quite a lot of veal & rabbit. Some of our party struggled to find something and there was very little that the infant would eat. The pools were ok but NOT children friendly.

I wish I had read some of these reviews before I had booked this holiday and not
on my return. I too was really unhappy with the hotel. The food was mostly tepid,
sometimes cold and tasted like someone had tipped a bucket of salt over it.
The all
inclusive rating was not all inclusive at all as there were far too many rules including
all drinks having to be paid for after 11pm. I asked for a Vodka and Pineapple and
was informed that the pineapple had to be paid for but I could have orange which
was on the list. They both came from the same brand so I can't for the life of me
imagine why one is all inclusive and one isn't.
