Crete Outdoor Activities
There is plenty to do in Crete, you can of course sunbathe
and relax on your holiday or you can get out and explore what Crete has to offer.
The
great Cretan Outdoors is unbelievable, filled with stunning countryside, flora and
fauna and some unique wildlife. The best way to see what Crete has to offer is by
car, bike or walking through the countryside.
This guide aims to cover the most popular ways of getting around the island, and
each page comes with videos, pictures and prices where possible. If you have anything

Crete Outdoors - Information
So you want to get out and explore the wonderful Cretan
Outdoors? Firstly why not go cycling through Lassithi Plateau visiting some traditional
little villages along the way. If you prefer a more relaxed pace of exploring you
could try hiking through the routes provided in our guide.
If you need to cool down
then what about choosing a dive into the sea surrounding Crete. We have compiled
a guide with videos on diving down to the reefs surrounding Crete including a WWII
wreck of a German fighter plane. The plane even though its been lying on the bottom
of the sea for over 60 years is in very good condition and you can even see the machine
gun lying on the sea floor with ammunition still loaded.
Now if you are thinking of
taking a holiday in Crete for more extreme sports then you are not alone. There
are a wealth of extreme sports to get involved in, the first being bungee jumping
from Aradaina bridge, the highest bridge in Crete. If that's not enough for you
why not try sky diving from 12,000 feet in a free fall or tandem jump with qualified
instructors.
If you want to explore a little of Crete from the sky and soar with vultures
then try paragliding from many take off spots around Crete with a qualified long
serving instructor with his own fully licensed company.
