Holidays2Crete would like to make it’s booking process as simple and easy to use
as possible, we do receive emails everyday asking a multitude of questions and have
tried to provide answers to the most common questions.

- Why do I get redirected when making my booking to Avvio.com and who are they?

- Avvio.com provide 100% secure booking facilities for Holidays2Crete, they also provide
this booking system to nearly 95% of all hotels in Ireland. All data including credit
card data is 100% safe when transmitted through there servers. We use Avvio.com
for peace of mind for our customers who so far have booked hundreds of rooms in Crete
over the past 2 years with no problems. Avvio.com are based in Ireland and more

- You have to pay 50% of the holiday at the time of booking, this is to secure the
room, leaving you with 50% to pay when you get to the hotel. You can pay the remaining
deposit in POUNDS STERLING or in EURO. We can also arrange to take lower deposits
if you contact us first.
- Some hotels in Malia are contracted out to Thomas Cook for the high season, we offer
these rooms in the low season when there is no tour operator to fill them. This
is the agreement we have with the hotel owners.
- You do have the right to cancel your holiday but you must give us at least 21 days
notice before you cancel, you may incur cancellation fees, please contact us if this
is the case.
- Avvio.com who run our integrated hotel booking system choose to tkae laser Card,
Vias, Mastercard, Diners Card, American Express and Switch cards. We do accept payment
by Cash, Cheque and PayPal but you must first confirm you have dates available that
you want to book and email us with your requirements. We can then arrange a payment
from here.
- You gain your free airport transfer after you have confirmed and paid for your booking,
we will email you and confirm your flight arrival times into Crete and the hotel
owner will personally collect you and drive you to the apartments/hotel.
- We are not ATOL bonded but all holidays are 100% secure, all monies are held by Avvio.com
until your holiday has ended, also monies are paid directly to the owners so there
are no overheads to cover and no risk to us or yourselves the holidaymaker. All
flights through Holidays2Crete are ABTA and ATOL bonded.
- We offer this service to all hoteliers in Crete that may want it at no charge to
themselves, we have good working relationships with these hotels and do not add premiums
to the cost of your holidays. All monies go direct to the hotelier. You can book
directly with them if you so wish but please contact us for details. In most cases
they will refer you back to the website to process a secure booking.
- We don’t do workers accommodation, we do allow bookings for up to 1 month at the
start of the season while you find work and a permanent place to stay in resort.
- Our hotel staff are on hand to advise you if you need a job in the resort your staying,
but this is only advice, we do not promise jobs to anyone nor proactively find jobs
for you. We can refer you to vacancies if required
- All of our hotel/apartment pages have walking times attached, you will find all our
apartments are close to local nightlife and amenities and in popular and safe areas.
- The hotel owners are on hand 24 hours a day and will assist and solve any problems
or queries you may have when staying at the hotels. All our hoteliers speak perfect
English so there are no communication problems.
- Currently we have no discussion forum, but we will be considering one if we have
more requests.
- We do have a regular newsletter which you can easily sign up for at the bottom right
of every page.
- We have provided a picture guide to the booking system so you can get to grips with
it HERE.
- Yes you can change the dates you have booked but you must give us advanced notice,
please refer to our T&Cs at the bottom of the page.
- If you contact us we can provide directions by car or just route maps to most places
in Crete, also any extra information you require on our hotels or sights of Crete
we will happily provide if you email us.
- The legal drinking age in Greece is 16.
- You can smoke in all restaurants, clubs and pubs in nearly every part of Crete. They
are a lot more relaxed about it and have no official smoking bans enforced.
- When travelling from the EU* to the UK you do not have to pay any tax or duty on
goods you have bought in another EU country as long as tax was included in the price
when you purchased the items, the items are for your own use, and have been transported
to the UK by you. This includes gifts, but does not include any item that is intended
to be used as payment or to be resold.
If you bring back large quantities of alcohol
or tobacco, a Customs Officer is more likely to ask about the purposes for which
you hold the goods. This will most likely be the case if you appear at the airport
with more than:
- 3200 cigarettes
- 400 cigarillos
- 200 cigars
- 3 kg of smoking tobacco
- 110 litres of beer
- 10 litres of spirits
- 90 litres of wine
- 20 litres of fortified wine i.e.: port or sherry
